We plan to release the 5/8” version of Grip Rail in Summer of 2024
Can you join 2 grip rails together?
Yes, you can do it with sleeves and couplers, or by using the double ended junior pin accessory. The double ended junior pin makes the two grip rails seamless on the outside diameter allowing the use of couplers without interference.
Can you join more than 2 grip rails together?
It is not recommended to join more than 2 together as the weight capacity will be dramatically reduced. Please use caution and best judgement.
Can I use T-handles instead of the grub screws to lock down the riser tube?
Yes, you can use T-handles in place of the grub screws for toolless adjustments. Please realize couplers, sleeves or ears wont slide over T-handles.
Can I order custom longer or shorter sizes?
Yes, we will do custom sizes with an MOQ of 50 pieces. Please submit custom order requests to: hello@msegrip.com with your desired specifications and quantities.
How do I safety a light fixture or adapter in the junior receiver?
Each Grip Rail comes with a corresponding safety hole to match industry standard junior pins and adapters.
How do I put Grip Rail in a stand?
There are multiple ways to use Grip Rail as a stand. Using the double ended junior pin, one can convert a turtle base to a male junior and mount up from there. For those looking for a tripod style stand, you can take apart and use any light stand base using similar diameter spider castings.
Will Grip Rail get damaged over time?
Grip Rail is a tool and like any tool, it will have wear and tear with each use.
Why does the Grip Rail color shading vary from unit to unit?
It is common for Grip Rail to vary in color shading as there are many factors that come into play, like impurities in the aluminum and the surface finish of the part. Matthews uses premium anodizing on Grip Rail, so be rest assured your unit is well coated.
Can I buy replacement tubes and parts?
Yes, replacement parts will be available through our parts store.
